‘Little do ye know your own blessedness; for to travel hopefully is a better thing than to arrive’ – Robert Louis Stevenson, Virginibus Puerisque, 1881
I was asked by Noble Rot magazine to illustrate Zeren Wilson’s article on the joys that a few glasses of red can bring to a long distance journey on a train.
‘The prospect of a long train journey without the prospect of some diverting drinking shenanigans sometimes gives me the fear, a nagging feeling that the travelling fun could be increased 1000% with a few jolly slurps along the way.’
I was happy to see Poirot’s name appear in the text and couldn’t resist getting Diane Abbot involved.
