Exploring the theme of 'Freedom' for Design Festival Birmingham 2022 I drew on the windows of independent bars in Birmingham.  Working in partnership with each bar  we collaborated on what Freedom means to them which I then responded to with illustrations.  




Cherry Reds menu is full of vegan and natural ingredients which has inspired me to plan a drawing around nature which will start with flower characters growing on the ground floor, right up to birds of freedom flying around on the 2nd floor windows. 



For Bonehead I focused on fashion, creating Flappa chicken wings which are a parody of the Kappa brand.


 

The windows of the Wildcat in Stirchley were used as a canvas for giant letters expressing some of the values linked to freedom.
